If your card is lost or stolen, notify us immediately by calling (800) 326-3862. If your Check Card is ever used without your permission, you’re covered by our Zero Liability Policy.*
* Zero Liability does not apply to ATM transactions not processed by Visa.
Are there transaction fees for using my Check Card?
No, there are no transaction fees; however, as with the ATM Card, foreign ATM fees still apply.
How do I activate my card?
Just use your card with your current PIN at any Wachovia ATM. You can also call (800) 326-1144 or visit wachovia.com/activate. You must know your PIN to activate your card.
How is my Check Card different from a credit card?
Your Check Card is not a credit card, so you don't pay finance charges. We deduct each purchase amount from your checking account and list the details on your monthly statement.
Can I use my Check Card without a PIN to make purchases?
Yes, you can use your Check Card just like you would use a credit card. Simply swipe the card, or give it to the salesperson and then sign the receipt. Remember, the purchase amount is deducted from your checking account. In addition, if you are enrolled in Wachovia Possibilities Rewards®, these purchases can earn rewards points.
How is my Check Card different from an ATM card?
It's accepted at all Wachovia ATM locations, but you can also use it wherever Visa debit is accepted.
Are there any monthly or annual fees for my Check Card?
No, there are no monthly or annual fees for the Check Card.
Can I use my Check Card in foreign countries?
You can use your Check Card to make purchases at millions of locations all over the world. You can also withdraw money at more than 1 million ATMs in 162 countries. Money will be dispensed in local currency. An International Service Assessment (ISA) fee of 2% will be applied to each international transaction.
