Ruth G. Shaw, retired, continues as executive advisor to the chairman and chief executive officer of Duke Energy Corporation, one of the largest electric power companies in the United States with headquarters in Charlotte, N.C. Previously she was Group Executive Public Policy and president, Duke Nuclear; and president and chief executive officer at Duke Power Company.  Before joining Duke Energy, she was president of Central Piedmont Community College.
