Neighborhood Implementation Grants support comprehensive community development projects that target specific neighborhoods. The community development project must be based on a current resident-driven neighborhood plan. Grants vary in size from $100,000 to $750,000 and are disbursed over three to five years. Grants are approved twice each year, through a two-phase application process.
All implementation grantees participate in robust evaluation processes designed to inform the neighborhood stakeholders of the project's performance, enhance collaboration, and assess the overall impact of the implementation initiatives. The evaluation includes the systemic surveying of residents about the quality of life, quarterly reporting on agreed upon milestones and deliverables, and assessing the change in select neighborhood indicators.
Neighborhood Implementation Grants can be used for program costs only. Program funding includes direct expenses essential to the project and can include staff salaries, a limited amount of equipment, supplies or fit-out. The Foundation does not provide funding for deficits, general operating costs or for “bricks and mortar” capital development.
